Lankford Labsthe product practice of Dave Lankford Live

Stay close to the work. If I think something should exist, I want to try to build it. These are real products, not case studies — some experiments, some ideas I've wanted to pursue for a while. They all start with the same question: is this worth making?

Lankford Labs

BrandThis site

The practice itself, built in the open — a brand documented to the decimal and a site that publishes its own working. If everything here has to be a real product, does that include the place they live?

Retired rather than failed. Nothing here is maintained as a product any more, but what it made is still worth keeping up.

The Shelter

TheatreExperiences

A handful of actors, myself included, started an independent theatre company and artist development program in NYC. The company ran for thirteen amazing years. The site is not just for marketing — it now serves as an archive of the company's creative canon.

LockupLab

BrandInteractive

Press a button and watch the logo become something else — a circuit, a joystick, a train window. A playground for finding out how many things one mark already is. Retired as a product; the archive still plays.

Dave

I build streaming products for a living. This is the other half.

I've spent thirty years in tech, most of it building products at the intersection of technology, media, and entertainment — from Disney and MLB to today, Crunchyroll, where I lead streaming product.

After years of working in New York, I now live in Dallas. I'm the proud father of two daughters and a dog, and I couldn't do any of this without the support of my amazing wife. And if you ever find yourself at my house around dinner time, I'm fixing a plate for you.
